Morning Rituals

It’s taken a while to get used to this stay at home Mama thing, partially because we have had house guests since Sofia was born (still do!). On top of attempting to master being Super Mama, I can’t help also trying to be Super Hostess at the same time (even if it isn’t necessary to do so, I feel a need to!). As much as I love having family around, I have to admit its been exhausting. I will miss them all dearly when they leave, but I am looking forward to seeing what it will be like to be a small family of 3.

So I’m trying to get my little tater tot into a routine despite all the chaos at home. Mornings seem to be when she is in the best mood. Wake up call is 700 hours and everyone is still in slumber mode. Fifi watches a little ‘In The Night Garden’ (she’s obsessed) while I get ready to take us out for a monster walk to Elwood in the Phil and Teds pram. We’re out by 8am after a feed and change. Half an hour of brisk walking takes me to a little cup of heaven…

I am in absolute love with this coffee. Combi Coffee in Elwood is the money. My friend Chelsea used to work here and used to rave about it. Because I was preggo at the time and the thought of coffee disgusted me, I couldn’t share the love. Now that I’m allowed one soy latte a day, I’m bean obsessed! Anyways, Sof and I run around for another hour and a half during my caffeine high. Mama gets her exercise and Fifi gets a nap in. It’s a win win, really.

Here’s another great product I want to share…

HOT PANTS! Literally, it’s effing hot to wear these neoprene shorts on my daily monster walks. But I’m 5 pounds away to pre-baby weight Denise, thanks to these! All without watching what I eat, really. In about 3.5 months! They aren’t the most stylish, but they work, so they get my thumbs up. I got them on a Groupon deal, but here’s the 411:

Now then, I should start thinking about toning up. I may have lost the weight but being soft is not good. I want muscle back! Any good mum and bub boot camps or fitness classes around St. Kilda/Elwood? I’m organizing a mum and bub yoga class for my Mummy Group but I’m thinking I need something a little more hard core to supplement it. Thoughts people?

A Simple Valentines.

I spent my Valentines day with this darling. No complaints!

I spent my Valentines eve with this other darling. Also no complaints! A simple picnic on Brighton Beach with champers, cheese, and macaroons equals pure bliss.

Romantic sunset? Yes please.

We got Auntie Krissy to babysit so we could have an evening escape from Sofia. But we spent the whole time admiring photos and watching videos of Fifi on my iPhone. Silly Mummy and Daddy. I guess life will never be the same.
